SUMMARY

Sheโs good at achieving her goalsโฆ
College senior Sabrina James has her whole future planned out: graduate from college, kick butt in law school, and land a high-paying job at a cutthroat firm. Her path to escaping her shameful past certainly doesnโt include a gorgeous hockey player who believes in love at first sight. One night of sizzling heat and surprising tenderness is all sheโs willing to give John Tucker, but sometimes, one night is all it takes for your entire life to change.
But the game just got a whole lot more complicated
Tucker believes being a team player is as important as being the star. On the ice, heโs fine staying out of the spotlight, but when it comes to becoming a daddy at the age of twenty-two, he refuses to be a bench warmer. It doesnโt hurt that the soon-to-be mother of his child is beautiful, whip-smart, and keeps him on his toes. The problem is, Sabrinaโs heart is locked up tight, and the fiery brunette is too stubborn to accept his help. If he wants a life with the woman of his dreams, heโll have to convince her that some goals can only be made with an assist.

REVIEW
I’ve finally finished my reread of the Off Campus series and I have to say, it’s been just as enjoyable the second time around. I wanted to revisit these books before the TV adaptation came out and diving into the Briar U series and I’m so glad I did because it reminded me why this has become one of my favourite sports romance series. Ending withย The Goalย felt like saying goodbye to a group of friends before moving on to the next chapter of their lives.
One thing I always appreciate about Elle Kennedy’s books is how easy they are to fly through andย The Goalย was no exception. I finished it in less than six hours because once I started, I didn’t want to put it down. Her writing is incredibly addictive, balancing humour, romance, emotional moments and character growth in a way that makes the pages disappear.
Tucker and Sabrina were such an easy couple to want to get their happily ever after. On paper, they shouldn’t work. Sabrina is fiercely independent, incredibly ambitious and determined to create the future she’s always dreamed of. Tucker on the other hand is calm, patient and endlessly supportive. They approach life from completely different perspectives, but somehow those differences are exactly what make them such a strong match.
What I loved most about their relationship was that it wasn’t just about falling in love. It was about two young people figuring out how to build a life together under circumstances neither of them expected. They didn’t magically have all the answers and they made mistakes along the way, but they consistently chose to work together instead of against each other. Everything they did was focused on creating the best possible future not only for themselves, but for their daughter as well. Watching them slowly become partners in every sense of the word made their relationship feel incredibly genuine.
Tucker has always been one of the quieter members of the Off Campus group, so I really enjoyed finally getting to see him take centre stage. He’s kind, dependable and emotionally mature without ever feeling boring. His unwavering support for Sabrina even when things became difficult made him one of the greenest flags in the entire series. Sabrina also surprised me during this reread. While she can be stubborn and guarded, understanding her family situation and the pressure she’s constantly under made it easy to see why she struggles to let people in. Her growth throughout the novel felt well earned and I loved seeing her learn that accepting help doesn’t make her any less strong.
Elle Kennedy’s writing really stood out to me in this book. The emotional scenes carried genuine weight and there were several moments that hit much harder than I remembered. Whether it was the uncertainty surrounding Tucker and Sabrina’s future, the challenges of becoming young parents or the quieter conversations about sacrifice and family, the emotional beats landed perfectly without ever feeling overly dramatic.
The only reason this wasn’t quite a five star read for me is that there were a few pacing issues in the middle where the story slowed down slightly. Even so, I was invested from beginning to end and I loved spending one last book with this group of characters.
Overall,ย The Goalย was a wonderful conclusion to the Off Campus series. It delivered heartfelt romance, meaningful character growth and a couple that truly felt like partners through every challenge life threw at them. Now that I’ve finished my reread, I’m more excited than ever to finally start the Briar U series and spend a little more time in this world (well after a little break from Elle Kennedy).
